The purpose of this study is to determine why the barista job has such a high turnover rate and to understand the factors that affect this tendency in order to prevent baristas from quitting and moving to other jobs, with the ultimate goal of promoting the development of the coffee industry. In order to collect data for this study, a survey was conducted from November 1, 2011 - November 20, 2011 targeting 200 baristas working at coffee shops in Seoul, and SPSS v. 15.0 was used to analyze the collected data. In the result of analyzing factors using the Max Barry perpendicular rotation method, a total of 8 factors were induced. Social relationship, job fit, payroll and benefits, aptitude and capacity, company policy and position and treatment factors appeared to be significant factors in baristas' desire to change jobs.
