This study analyzed the coffee house(tea room) which was the exclusive space of culture artists mainly in the early modern coffee house of Incheon, Seoul and Busan in the 1930s and 1940s. Especially, it examined the political and cultural aspects of the coffee ceremony in Korean society, which spread with Korean coffee ceremony throughout Korean society and created the world’s first unique coffee culture. This study analyzed the role of the coffee shop in the life and social life of the Korean people. I tried to analyze the appearance and the physiology of the coffee shop in Korea and the people who went there. The coffee shop opens with a focus on Chosun's ‘Modern Boy’ who has been studying abroad. Especially, the case of coffee and café that raised resistance for the recovery of sovereignty and independence for the time was not found out. However, the protest movement of the Korean intellectuals, which was covertly spread around the coffee house called the coffee shop, was transformed into a cultural resistance rather than a political one. In addition, it is necessary to carry out a study on the fact that it is hidden and completely hidden by the Japanese imperialism. It is time to find a way to revive the time and space of the coffee ceremony that was responsible for the axis of modern and contemporary politics and history of Korean society.
