본 연구는 읽기 그릿 척도(RGS)를 개발하고 대학생을 대상으로 이 척도의 타당도를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 학업적 그릿 모형에 근거하여 읽기 그릿의 하위 구인을 흥미 유지, 조화 열정, 노력 지속 세 가지로 설정하였다. 세 요인에 대해 38개의 초안 문항을 개발한 뒤 전문가 타당화 과정을 거쳐 26개로 수정하여 탐색적 요인 분석을 시행하였다. 이후 문항을 23개로 수정하여 본문항을 구성한 뒤 확인적 요인 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 21개 문항의 모델에서 양호한 모형 적합도를 확인할 수 있었고, 이에 RGS의 문항을 확정하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 RGS는 향후 대학생들의 읽기 그릿을 파악하고 읽기 역량 강화와 관련한 여타의 연구 및 프로그램 개발에 활용 가능할 것이다.
The purpose of this study is to develop the Reading Grit Scale (RGS) and verify the validity of this scale with university students. Based on the academic grit model, three sub-domains of reading grit were set to maintenance of interest, harmony passion, and persistence of effort. After developing 38 draft items for the three factors, explanatory factor analysis was conducted after modifying to 26 items through an expert validation process. Afterward, the number of items was modified to 23 to construct the main questionnaire, and then a confirmatory factor analysis was performed. As a result of the analysis, a fine model fit was confirmed in the models of the 21 items, and RGS questions were confirmed. The RGS developed in this study will be able to identify the reading grit of college students and can be used for other research program development related to strengthening reading competencies.
