Korean Language Competence and Innovation of Korean Language Education for the Future Society

이 논문은 미래 사회에서 요청되는 국어능력의 효용을 진단하고, 이를 위해 국어교육이 어떤 변화를 추구해야하는 지를 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 이 글은 국어사용의 생태를 중심으로 인문학, 교육학, 사회학, 테크놀로지 등 유관 분야의 미래 담론들을 리뷰함으로써 국어능력의 진화 방향을 논구하였다. 현재의 국어교육은 낡은 근대적 요소들을 혁신해야 한다. 학문 중심적인 교육 내용 체계, 협소한 교재관, 메타언어로 이루어지는 교수 언어, 표준모형에 의존하는 창의성 없는 교육 방법 등이 문제이다. 과감한 교육과정 혁신이 필요하다. 미래의 언어 생태 환경을 국어교육에 반영하지 못하면, 국어교육은 진화할 수 없기 때문이다. 지식의 융·복합, 소통 테크놀로지의 변화로 미래에는 국어능력의 내용과 수요가 질적으로 확장된다. 특히 사회적·문화적 문식성이 강조될 것이다. 또 국어능력은 외국어능력과의 상호성이 증대된다. 학교교육 이외에 평생교육 영역에서도 국어교육의 수요가 늘어난다. 국어교육은 생태주의 인식론, 기술주의 방법론, 인문주의 가치론 등을 혁신의 접근로로 삼아야 한다. 이들이 조화롭게 상호성을 가지고, 새로운 국어교육의 학습 생태를 형성해 나가면, 국어교육 체제의 질적 혁신을 불러 올 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to diagnose the level and utility of Korean language competence to be required in future society, accordingly to explain what kind of effort to be concentrated in the area of Korean language education. In order to reveal the direction of developing of Korean language competence, this study reviewed various discourses of pedagogy, sociology, technology and humanities related to ecology of Korean language education in the future. In the period of industrialization Korean language education have formed old-fashioned factors that is required to innovate in focus the learning environment of the future. Especially scholarship-based curriculum content of knowledge system, limited perspective about teaching materials, using teaching language based on metalanguage, non-creative teaching methods depending on schematism are more drastically reformed. Because without the effort of reform, Korean language education would not take progress and its evolution in harmony with learning ecology in the future. In the future as many changes take in society convergence of knowledge and technology of communication, the content of Korean language competence will be changed, so various demand of it be extended. In individual learner, interaction between Korean language competence and foreign language competence will be increase, and then socio-cultural literacy is emphasized for hollistic core- competence of language use. Progress of Korean language education should go with in three approach, such as understanding of ecology, methodology with technology, and axiology of humanities. By taking interaction with three approach harmonically, Korean language education evolve with its qualitative innovation, and have successful ecological base for its accomplishment.
