신어는 새로 생긴 개념이나 사물을 지시하기 위하여 새로 만든 말로, 사회의 변화에 따라 끊임없이 생기고 또 그 일부가 사라진다. 최근 들어 생성되는 신어 가운데 눈에 띄는 것은 사람 관련 신어의 양상이다. 사람과 관련한 신어나 접미사의 특징은 이미 여러 연구에서 논한 바 있는데, 우리는 기존 논의에서 거의 다루지 않았던 사람 관련 단어의 새로운 형성 방식, 특히 혼성어와 관련한 형성 방식, 그리고 이전에 나타나지 않았던 새로운 접미사의 몇 가지의 특징을 살펴보았다. 그 가운데 고유명사, 특히 인명이 결합한 신어가 나타나는 것이 특징적이었는데 이 단어들은 주로 혼성의 형태로 만들어진다는 것이 주목할 만하였다. ‘차줌마, 유느님, 갓세돌, 공블리, 밍무룩, 예쁘지우’ 등이 그 예이다. 다음으로는 ‘-러, -어’ 등 외래어 형식의 접미사가 나타나는 것도 특이하였다. 또한 사람을 가리키는 접미사 ‘-충’도 확인하였는데 대상에 대한 비하를 나타내는 것이 특징이었다. 또한 ‘-둥이’는 접미사에서 자립어로 기능이 변하였으며 그 의미도 변한 것을 알 수 있었다.
New words are the ones which are created to indicate the new concepts or things. They are continuously made and fade away according to the change of society. New words related to human being among the words created recently attract our attentions. The characteristics of suffix and new words related to human being have been discussed in many other studies. In this paper I examined a few characteristics of the new formation way of the new words related to human being, especially the new formation way related to blends, and new suffixes which appeared for the first time. They have been scarcely discussed until now. For example, the new words which are combined with proper noun, especially personal name, such as ‘Chajumma(차줌마), Yuneunim(유느님), Gatsedol(갓세돌), Gongbeulli(공블리), Mingmuruk(밍무룩), Yeppeujiu(예쁘지우)’ appeared. It is a remarkable phenomenon that they were made in the form of blends. And it is a noteworthy phenomenon that the suffixes ‘-reo(-러), -eo(-어)’ like the form of loanwords appeared. I also examined suffix ‘-chung(-충)’ which represents belittlement of the objects. And I found that the function of ‘-dungi(-둥이)’ changed from suffix to independent word and the meaning of it also changed.
