일본의 문화는 백제(百濟)와 일본(倭)의 정치적 교류를 통해서 시작 되었다. 이는 백제 멸망 당시 많은 백제 인들이 일본으로 건너가 정치적 실무와 도자기, 차, 방직, 제련, 무기 제조, 토목, 건축 등을 전하였다는 것에서 알 수 있다. 또한 불교를 전래하여 승려들로 부터 불법(佛法)과 더불어 여러 학술 서적 등을 전하여 일본 지배층에 많은 영향을 주었다. 실제로『일본서기(日本書紀)』에 백제 인에 의해 기록이 있으며 『부상략기(紀)』에는 옷과 문물이 전해진 것을 보면 백제의 영향은 왜의 문화에 적지 않은 영향력을 주었다고 할 수 있다.『삼국사기(三國史記)』에도 백제의 근초고왕(近肖古王)과 근구수왕(近仇首王) 시기에 일본과의 정치적 관계는 백제가 일본에 많은 영향을 주었음을 기록하고 있다. 백제가 일본에 전한 많은 요인들 가운데 특히 불교의 전래는 일본문화에 지대한 영향을 주었다. 백제에서 전해진 불교는 백제멸망 후 신라에서 발전하게 되고 불교의 종파 가운데서도 선종(禪宗)은 일본 다도의 핵심적인 사상으로 발전하게 되었다. 백제의 차문화 역시 백제 유민의 지배계층이 일본으로 건너가서 백제문화를 전수한 가운데 이루어진 것으로써 이러한 사실을 뒷받침하는 것 중 하나가 차 도구인 차호(茶器)가 미륵사지에서 출토된 사리함과 동일란 형태미를 갖추고 있음을 알 수 있다. 일본의 일상적으로 나타나 있는 문화 또한 백제 인으로 인하여 체계화되었으며 일본의 지배층에도 백제와 연관 되어있다는 설이 유력하게 전해 내려오고 있다. 이러한 여러 가지 요소가 합하여져 일본의 문화에 영향을 준 결과로 일본의 차탕(茶の湯)과 차 도구 또한 백제의 유물과 매우 흡사함을 나타내고 있다.

There is a theory that daily culture was organized by Baekje people and that the Japanese ruling class was also related to Baekje. Tea tools which named chaho are also very similar to the remains of Baekje. It can be seen that it has the same shape of beauty as the sarira case excavated from the Mireuks. It is strongly originated that Japan's ordinary culture was also systematized by the people of Baekje, and it As a result of the combination of these factors, the tea ceremony and tea tools of Japan are also very similar to the artifacts of Baekje.
