A New Power-Factor Control Technic of Power Supply for a Mining system

In this paper, we propose a new power factor control technique that controls the input power factor and the output voltage according to the number of GPUs (Graphics Processing Unit) for Digital-Currency mining to control the power factor of the input side of the power supply to supply power to the mining system. The proposed new power factor control technique has the advantage of reducing the switching loss of the rectifier side of the power supply for mining system by controlling the conduction angle through which the current at the input side of the rectifier is conducted. The control principle of the proposed new power factor control technique is described in detail by applying it to a power supply of a mining system including a plurality of GPUs, and its validity is verified through simulation results.
