The purpose of this study is to examine the imbalance between the demand and supply of interpretation and translation in the language of the New South and North regions and to suggest flexible education plans to solve the imbalance. First, interviews were conducted with institutions and companies that had entered the New Southern and Northern countries to examine the potential demand for the interpretation and translation. Next, the situation of interpretation and translation education in Korea (university/graduate school) was examined, focusing on the languages of the education program. As a result of interview and research, we have found that the interpretation and translation education in Korea is still biased towards only several languages like English and Chinese, so that education cannot keep up with the demand in the field. In conclusion, we suggested 3 plans to solve the imbalance between demand and supply for interpretation and translation.
