본 논문에서는 중국 현대문학작가 老舍의 문학관에 영향을 끼친 이탈리아 작가 단테와 그의 장편서사시 『神曲』의 영향 관계를 고찰하였다. 먼저 老舍의 문학 경향 가운데 언어적 측면에 미친 영향을 중점적으로 조명하였고, 다음으로는 老舍의 창작관과 문학작품에 투영된 작가 단테와 『신곡』의 영향 관계에 대하여 살펴보았다. 老舍에게 있어서 단테는 위대한 문학가이자 애국시인으로 자리매김한 작가였다. 단테의 영향을 받은 老舍의 영혼(靈)의 문학관은 종교성을 초월한 보다 포용적인 의미로 이해할 수 있으며, 老舍는 특정 종교의 영향 관계를 초월하여 단테의 『신곡』을 수용하였던 것으로 추론된다. 老舍는 국가적 위기 등 현실의 모든 지옥같은 험난한 위기 상황 속에서도 사람들이 선함과 악함, 그리고 사악함과 바름을 제대로 분별해낼 수 있기를 희망하였다. 또한, 老舍 자신을 포함한 모든 이들이 도덕성을 띤 인간으로서의 용기를 회복함으로써 악하고 어리석은 삶을 결연히 내버리고 내면 깊은 곳의 영혼의 소리인 양심에 따라 선하고 지혜롭고 바른 삶을 살기를 진심으로 열망하였다.
Italian writer Dante is known as an authors who influenced the literary view of Laoshe, a Chinese contemporary writer. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the influence relationship between Dante and his long epic Divine Comedy and Laoshe’s literature. First, we focus on the influence that they had on the linguistic aspects of Laoshe’s literature, and next, we looked at the influence of Dante and the Divine Comedy which were projected on Laoshe's creative view and works. For Laoshe, Dante was a writer who established himself as a great literary man and patriotic poet. Laoshe's literary view of the soul, influenced by Dante, can be understood as a more inclusive sense beyond religions, and it is inferred that Laoshe embraced Dante's Divine Comedy beyond the influence of certain religions. Laoshe hoped that people would be able to properly distinguish good and evil, right and wrong, even in all the hellish crises of reality such as the national crisis. In addition, Laoshe sincerely aspired that everyone, including himself, has a good, wise, and right life according to conscience, the voice of the soul deep in the heart, by discarding their evil and foolish mind and restoring their courage as a virtuous human being.
