한국어교육이 독립된 학문으로 발전한 가운데 문법 연구는 과거 국어교육을 위한 관점에서 탈피하여 한국어교육에 초점을 두는 방향으로 재구성되고 있다. 최근 L2 학습자를 교육하는 한국어교실에서는 기능을 중시하기 때문에 문법 번역식(Grammar-Translation) 교수법에 의한 문법 형태소 분석이나 문법 지식에 대한 규칙학습에서 벗어나 실제 언어 사용시 의미 기능을 띤 덩어리(meaningful chunk) 형식을 가르치는 항목학습으로 바뀌고 있다. 이런 가운데 본 연구의 목적은 한국어 문법교육을 위한 ‘표현문형(expressive sentence pattern)’이라는 문법 범주를 설정하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 우선 표현문형이 외국어 학습에서 어떤 이점이 있는가에 대해 교수와 평가의 측면에서 이론적으로 전개하면서 표현문형에 대해 세 가지의 검증 기준을 제시하고 판가름을 할 수 있는 기준을 마련했다. 그 다음으로 통계적 측면에서 사전 안에 수록된 표현문형을 분석하여 구성 방식에 대해 검토했다. 마지막으로 표현문형이란 범주 안에서 분류하는 방식을 성분과 의미로 양분하여 구체적인 구분 방법을 명시하고 끝으로 표현문형에 관련된 연구 방향을 제시하였다.
The purpose of this study was to exclusively define the scope of Expressive Sentence Pattern (ESP) for the Korean grammar education. In order to accomplish this research purpose, the following research questions are constructed. Firstly, reviewing the efficiency of ESP in the foreign language teaching. Following that, providing baselines for validations and define what is the ESP. Then, investigating the structure of ESP and explaining how to classify ESP into different teaching methods. To achieve these goals , this study contains the following contents. The study firstly conducts a review in the theoretical context of the viewpoints from the teaching and assessment with regards to the advantages of ESP in learning foreign languages. Then analyzes the characteristics from the three dimensions of ESP, which also provides the three baselines for validations. Finally, the study emphasizes the classification method of ESP to suggest specific classification methods using the two dimensions, namely constituent and significance. To conclude, This paper focuses on the definition of ESP and hopefully it can be a pilot study for an advanced analysis of ESP.
