정인홍 설화에서 살펴본 세계 인식의 문제

구비설화 가운데는 역사적 사건을 소재로 하여 형성되고 전승되는 경우가 많다. 역사적 사건을 소재로 하는 만큼 거기에는 설화 전승자들 특유의 역사를 바라보는 관점이 깔려 있다. 정인홍 설화는 인조반정이 소재가 되었다. 이 연구는 인조반정에서 정인홍이 역적의 누명을 쓰고 참형을 당했다고 하는 사실에 대하여, 설화 전승자들이 어떤 방식으로 접근하고 있는지를 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 실제 행적으로 보아 정인홍은 당쟁의 중심에 서 있었던 인물이다. 따라서 정인홍 설화는 인간관계의 문제가 중요한 의미망을 이룬다. 그리고 이 문제는 그 자체로서 중요할 뿐 아니라 역사 인식의 문제와도 밀접한 관계를 가진다. 실제로 이 설화는 올바른 인간관계의 실현이라는 간단치 않은 문제를 심각하게 제기하면서 몇 가지 기준을 제시하였으며, 특히 능력 있는 사람에게서 나타나는 일종의 병통으로 과격하고 강직한 처신을 경계하였다. 또 설화에서 부각된 정인홍의 허구적 형상과 그의 실제 행적이 긴밀히 상통하고 있는 것으로 드러났으며, 이로써 설화 전승자들의 역사 이해 방식이 역사를 일상으로 환원해서 이해하는 것, 환언하면, 구체적인 일상적 상황과 역사적 상황을 일관된 관점에서 투시하는 것이라는 점을 밝혔다.

This treatise is attempted to discuss about the problems in relation to the world-recognition of Jung Inhong-tales. I epitomize the subject matters which were discussed in the upper parts as following. First, Jung Inhong-tales was built up from the historical matter, Incho-restoration. At this time the transmitters of tales felt the lack and brought forward a doubt of Jung Inhong's death. And these operated as a moment and a motive in the building up Jung Inhong-tales. Second, the transmitters of tales built up Jung Inhong-tales going through the process of figuring the excellent faculty and the unexpected death by taking two apples of the eye and huge serpent tales which were handed down as traditional matters. Third, Jung Inhong-tales presented several canons such as features, temperament and behavior in the human relations of every day life. Finally, Jung Inhong-tales revealed the method of the transmitters concerning the history-understanding. That method is to vivify the history into an everyday experience.
