A Study on the Names of Natural Villages in Naesu-eup

본고는 忠北 淸原郡 內秀邑에 속하는 자연마을 이름을 대상으로, 그 명명 유연성을 고찰하였다. 제2장에서는 지명의 명명 유연성에 대한 기존의 연구 방법에 대해 반성해 보았다. 기존의 논의들은 일원적 분류로, 단지 지명 명명에 관련된 소재만을 나타낼 뿐 명명 유연성과는 거리가 있다. 이러한 문제점을 극복하기 위해 명명 유연성을 대항목으로 유형화하고, 그 유연성을 드러내기 위해 관련된 소재를 소항목으로 유형화하는 이원적 분류법을 제시하였다. 명명 소재는 명명 준거면에서 내부준거와 외부준거로 나누었고, 지명 종류는 명명 방식면에서 기본지명과 확장지명으로 구분하였다. 제3장에서는 제2장의 이론에 맞추어 내수읍 자연마을 이름의 명명 유연성을 유형화하였다.

The purpose of this study was to review the naming flexibility of natural villages which are located in Naesu-eup, Chungbuk Province. Chapter 2 reviewed the preceding research that has focused on flexibility in naming villages. The result showed that preceding research has been conducted in a single classification, far away from the process of naming flexibility, and showed only materials in naming villages. In order to overcome this kind of problem, this study presents a dual classification in classifying village names, by which naming flexibility is grouped into large classifications and again relating materials are typed into small classifications to reveal its flexibility. Naming materials are classified as internal and external references in terms of naming reference. Also, place names are classified into two types-basic and extended-by the naming method. In Chapter 3, the naming flexibility of village names in Naesu-eup are classified by the theory presented in Chapter 2.
