한국어 초급 교재에서의 발음교육 방안 연구

A Study on the Methods of Pronunciation Education in Korean Language Textbooks for Foreign Beginners: Focused on the Rules of Phonemic Variation

최근 한국어 교육에 관련된 교재들이 의사소통 중심의 말하기, 듣기, 읽기, 쓰기 기능이 통합된 교재로 발간되고 있다. 하지만 통합 교재 중 발음교육을 위한 음운 변동 규칙을 기술한 교재는 많지 않다. 대부분의 통합교재는 초급 교재의 첫 부분에서 모음, 자음, 음절 구성 등 받침 발음의 기본적인 음운 교육에 대해 제시하고 있을 뿐, 본문에서는 음운에 대한 설명을 포함하고 있지 않다. 이에 한국어 발음을 집중적으로 학습할 수 있도록 외국인을 위한 한국어 발음 교재가 출간되어 있으나 일반적으로 통합교재를 통해 한국어를 학습하는 외국인 학습자들이 별도로 발음 교재를 학습하기는 쉽지 않은 상황이다. 따라서 발음교육을 위해 발간된 최근 한국어 발음 교재의 음운 변동 규칙에 대한 부분을 분석하고 보완함으로써 초급 통합 교재 내에서 음운 변동에 대한 학습이 효율적으로 이루어질 수 있는 방안을 마련하는 데 본고의 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 한국어 발음 교재 분석을 통해 음운 변동 규칙의 교수ㆍ학습 내용과 순서를 점검하고, 통합 교재의 발음 부분을 분석ㆍ보완할 것이다. 아울러 통합 교재에 적합하도록 발음교육의 유의점과 교수ㆍ학습 순서를 재구성하고자 한다.

Recently published textbooks related to Korean language education tended to integrate communication-centered speaking, listening, reading and writing functions. However, there have not been many textbooks explaining the rules of phonemic variation for pronunciation education among the integrative textbooks. Most of the integrative textbooks dealt with the basic phoneme education of the final consonants pronunciation, such as vowels, consonants and syllable composition in the first part of the textbooks for beginner's level, but they did not include any explanations for the phoneme in their body. For this reason, there has been a continuous effort for publishing the textbooks as to Korean language pronunciation for foreigners so as to help them learn it intensively. However, it would not be easy for foreign Korean learners to use the integrative pronunciation textbooks. Therefore, this study was aimed to analyze and supplement the rules of phonemic variation in the textbooks of Korean language pronunciation recently published for the education of accurate pronunciation, and to search for the methods, through which the education for phonemic variation could be conducted in the class using the integrative textbooks for beginner's level. To this end, the study selected the teaching-learning content and sequence of the rules for phonemic variation through the analysis of the textbooks for Korean language pronunciation, analyzed and supplemented the pronunciation appropriate to the integrative textbooks and re-configured the teaching-learning sequence, along with the matters to be attended to concerning the pronunciation education suitable for current integrative textbooks.
