본 연구는 개정 교육과정에 등장한 사회적 상호작용 개념 규정을 말하기 영역과 관련지어 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 위해 학문적 배경인 사회 구성주의 관점과 국어과에서 다루는 텍스트 유형의 층위에서 살피고자한다. 그리고 교과서에서 다루는 담화자료가 학습자의 언어 생활 영역을 반영되어 있는지 생활국어 담화 제재를 분석하고 8학년 학습자의 설문 조사를 바탕으로 언어사용 외적 맥락을 기술하고자 한다.상호작용 말하기의 개념 규정을 위한 조건으로 학습자의 이해를 돕고 수행의 표본으로 삼하야 할 담화자료는 사회 언어학적 규범이 잘 드러나도록 언어 환경인 외적 맥락 범주 설정이 필요함을 언급했다.사회 언어학적 구성 요소를 중심으로 살펴본 생활국어 대화 자료를 분석 한 결과 다음과 같은 문제점을 발견할 수 있었다. 첫째, 다양한 담화상황 유형을 경험할 수 없다. 둘째, 대화 주체자의 역할관계에 의한 맥락을 제공해주지 못하고 있다. 셋째, 학습자의 발달단계에 따른 다양한 경험이 반영된 상황설정이 제시되어 있지 않다. 다섯째, 장소나 역할 인식에 의해 대화 사용자의 화체가 한정 되어 있다. 이에 8학년 학습자의 설문 조사를 바탕으로 실제 학습자 언어사용 맥락을 범주화하여 기술하였다. 이는 교과서 편찬하는 과정에서 말하기 영역 중 대화 담화 제재 선정에 참고가 될 것으로 기대한다.
