이 연구에서는 학생들이 쓴 논술문의 내용 전개 구조를 살피고 그에 따른 교육적 함의를 연구하였다. 우선 대입에서 학생들에게 제시된 논제들을 살핀 뒤 명제들이 필수적으로 나타나야 하는가 여부에 따라 명제들을 구분하고 이를 바탕으로 명제 구조를 세우고자 하였다. 이렇게 수립된 명제 구조에 따르면 재구성된 큰구조 명제(=재정의)뿐만 아니라 평가, 근거, 해석, 부정, 정당화와 비판을 담은 명제들은 내용 전개 과정에서 반드시 나타나야 하지만 {상황진술}, {재진술}, {예비적 큰구조 명제}, {옹호}, {메타진술}, {부연}, {정교화} 명제는 그렇지 않다는 것을 발견하였다. 이런 발견 사실들을 학생들이 산출한 논술문에 적용하여 본 결과로 학생들에게 수의적인 명제와 필수적인 명제에 대한 자각을 일깨우도록 가르칠 필요가 있을 뿐만 아니라 논술문 평가에서도 필수적인 명제의 점검을 통해 신뢰도를 드높일 수 있다는 것을 강조하였다.
In this article, I have studied on the structure of content developing of essay and its educational implication for instruction and evaluation of essay writing. First, scrutinizing the theses presented to students in college entrance examination I tried to establish content proposition structures via the distinction between propositions whether they are obligational or not. According to this distinction, I found that there are such components as reconstructed macroproposition (redefinition), evaluation, foundation, construe, negation, justification, and criticism which is obligational proposition in content developing. On the contrary, there are optional propositions. They are situational statement, restatement, preparational macroproposition, advocation, metastatement, paraphrase and elaborative phrase. I applied this findings to essays which students produced, then I can have come to the following conclusion: in instruction of essay writing, it is important for the students to aware the distinction between obligational propositions from optional ones. In the case of essay evaluation, we could check obligational propositions of essay produced for the sake of reliability, validity and objectivity of tests.
