과정 중심 쓰기 교육 연구의 현황과 과제

The reviews of Process-Based Writing Education Research

이 연구는 현재 쓰기 교육 이론을 관통하고 있는 과정 중심 쓰기 교육 이론의 수용과 변화를 고찰함으로써 그 한계와 전망을 제시하고자 하였다. 과정 중심 쓰기 교육 이론은 인지심리학자의 연구 성과로 드러난 쓰기 과정이었다. 이런 태생적 한계로 쓰기 이론과 쓰기 교육 이론 간의 간극이 교육 현상의 굴곡으로 드러났다. 이 연구에서는 그 현상의 원인으로 ‘과정’에 대한 왜곡된 수용과 변화를 꼽았다. 과정 중심에서 말하는 ‘과정’은 필자의 사고로서의 성격이므로 의미 구성, 문제 해결, 인지 조정 과정으로 특징지을 수 있다. 그러나 이론 수용과 현장 실천에서는 ‘절차’로서 드러난 과정을 수용함으로써 한계를 드러내게 되는 원인을 제공했다. 인지심리학자들의 실험이 교육적 현상에서도 들어맞기 위해서는 좀 더 변증법적인 노력으로 사고와 쓰기 과정을 공존시켜야 할 필요성이 제기된다. 현재 과정 중심 쓰기 교육의 한계를 사회적 관점이나 후기 과정 중심의 보완적 논의로 극복하려는 움직임이 있다. 이 연구에서는 이런 흐름을 살펴 지향점 세 가지를 제시하였다. 첫째, 학습자의 발달 특성을 기반으로 쓰기 이론 연구를 해야 한다. 둘째, 쓰기 이론의 성과를 쓰기 교육 이론에서 교육 내용으로 받아들이려는 노력이 필요하다. 셋째, 이러한 교육 내용을 교육과정에서 반영하고 이를 교과서와 교수·학습으로 상세화하는 원리 탐구가 필요하다.

This study investigates how Process-based Writing Education Theory has been adapted and applied to education in school system. Both the practicality and limitations of the theory are discussed. Process-based Writing Education came about as a result of cognitive phycologist's research. Fot this reason the theory has some limitations as it relates to school education. It should be noted that there is a distinct difference between writing theory and writing education theory. This study states that 'process' is accepted distortely or quickly at school education. The characteristics of Process-based approach are: meaning construction, problem solving, and cognitive monitoring. But these characteristics are limite in their scope and they do not readily accommodate the 'procedure' on theory and practice. To be adapted at school education we should make an effort for being lived thinking and writing process together. Today there are trials underway to get over these difficulties studying social approach or the post-process writing theory in Process-based Writing Education. In this article , after investigating Process-based Writing Education Theory's adaption and limitation what it has, and then suppose that plans to develope the writiing theory on the based learner's characteristics, require writing education theory to develop writing education, the necessity of concretion of curriculum contents.
