부모의 성취압력이 초중고생 자녀의 공격성에 미치는 영향

The influence of parental achievement pressure on their children’s aggression according to their children’s gender, and schools-elementary, middle and high schoolers.

연구목적: 부와 모의 성취압력이 자녀의 학교급별과 성별에 따라 공격성에 미치는 영향이 각기 어떻게 다른 지를 파악한다. 연구방법: 초등 5학년에서 고등 2학년까지 770명을 대상으로 부와 모의 성취압력과 공격 성을 자기보고식 설문지로 측정하고, 학교급별과 성별로 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 부의 성취압력은 중고생 자녀의 신체적 공격성과 고등학생 자녀의 적대 감에 영향을 미치고, 모의 성취압력은 초등생 자녀의 적대감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나 타났다. 둘째, 부의 성취압력은 남아의 신체적 공격성에, 여아의 적대감에 영향을 미치 고, 모의 성취압력은 남아의 언어적 공격성과 적대감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 자녀의 학교급별내에서 성별로 다시 세분화한 결과는 다음과 같다. 부의 성취압력 은 중등 여아의 신체적 공격성에, 중고생 여아의 적대감에 영향을 미치고, 모의 성취압 력은 초등 남아의 언어적 공격성과 적대감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결론: 부와 모의 성취압력은 자녀의 학교급과 성별에 따라 공격성에 미치는 영향이 다르게 나타났다. 이 결과는 부모가 자녀의 학교급과 성별 특성에 적합하게 학업관여방 식을 제공할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of parental achievement pressure on their children’s aggression according to their children’s gender, and schools – elementary, middle and high schoolers. Methods: The sample were 770 students from 5th to 11th graders while elementary, middle and high schools. They answered two questionnaires. One was about achievement pressure from their father and mother. And the other was about aggression of themselves. And the data was analyzed by multiple regression analysis according to the students’ gender and schools. Results: The results were found as follows: First, the father's achievement pressure influenced on his child’s physical aggression and hostility while middle and high school. And the mother's achievement pressure influenced on her child’s hostility while elementary school. Second, the father's achievement pressure influenced on his son’s physical aggression and daughter’s hostility. And the mother's achievement pressure influenced on her son’s verbal aggression and hostility. Third, the father's achievement pressure influenced on his daughter’s physical aggression and hostility while middle and high school. And the mother's achievement pressure influenced on her son’s verbal aggression and hostility while elementary school. Conclusion: The father's and mother's achievement pressure influenced on their children’s aggression according to their children’s gender and schools. This result suggests that parents need to provide an academic involvement appropriate for their children's gender and schools.
