유아교사 인성교육을 위한 퇴계 삶과 숙흥야매잠도 탐색

Inquiry on Toegye's Life and Sukhungyamajamdo for the Character Education of Early Childhood Education Teachers

본 연구는 유아교사 인성교육을 위한 기초 연구로서 퇴계의 삶을 알아보고, 그의 교육 저 서인 『성학십도』 중 숙흥야매잠도를 연구하였다. 최근 교육의 현장에서 일어나는 여러 도덕 적 해이와 폭력의 증가 속에서, 교사들을 위한 인성교육에 대한 중요성은 점점 더 강조되고 있다. 인성교육에 대한 논의는 오랜 세월 동안 이어져왔는데, 미래를 위한 인성교육방법으로 퇴계에 주목하였다. 특별히 퇴계의 대표적인 교육서인 『성학십도』 중 제10도 “숙흥야매잠 도”에서 인성교육의 의미와 실천 가능성을 알아보고자 하였다. 기존의 문헌연구에서 퇴계의 삶과 숙흥야매잠도의 인성교육적 측면을 살펴보고, 교육적 의미를 찾아보았다. 퇴계의 마음공부, 수양론, “경” 공부라고 일컫는 부분들은 유아교사들을 위한 기존 인성교 육 연구의 핵심 덕목들과도 이어진다. 유아교사들의 인성을 위한 교육방법으로서 “퇴계”의 삶을 고찰하고 숙흥야매잠도를 통해 교육적 의미와 실천 가능성을 탐구하고 퇴계의 인성교 육적 가치를 재해석하고자 하였다. 퇴계의 삶과 숙흥야매잠도에서는 나타나는 덕성함양의 삶, 교육에 대한 신념과 실천의 소 신, 마음의 수렴할 수 있게 하는 ‘경’ 공부는 유아교사들의 자기조절력과 심리적 건강, 민감 성, 인내심 등의 마음의 힘을 기를 수 있는 인성 핵심덕목과도 관련 있어 보인다. ‘유아교사 는 국가의 원기’라는 명제를 이끌어 유아교육자의 중요한 위치임을 각성시키고, 퇴계와 관련 된 한국 교육고전에 대한 고취는 본 연구의 의의라고 볼 수 있겠다. 앞으로 유아교사 인성교 육을 위한 프로그램 등 퇴계학 관련 연구가 현대 시대에 맞게 이어져야겠다.

This study aims at in-depth investigation, to gain insights on our present nurseryeducation, on Toegye's life and his ideas of character education based on closereading of “Sookhungyamaejamdo” in one part of “Sung Hak-sipdo” which is his bookon education. With the moral hazards and violence increasing in the field ofeducation, the importance of character education is emphasized more and more. Thedebate over character education has long been debated, and researchers havedirected their attention to Toegye as a desirable source of education for the presentand the future. In particular, I explore the meaning of character education and its practicality in“Sookhungyamaejamdo” which is the 10th figure of the “Sung Hak-sipdo” Throughthe literature review, I investigate into the educational aspects of Toegye's life, hisviews on education, and educational insights. “Mind study” of Toegye, his “Theory of nursing”, which are referred to as “Kyung”education are consistent with the core courses of Character Education Promotion Actimplemented in 2015, and are also in line with the core virtues of education for infantteachers. In other words, as an educational method for early childhood teachers, astudy on Toegye's life and an exploration of its practicality in “Sookhungyamaejamdo” are invaluable. In conclusion, more research should be followed, inrelation to Toegye with a focus on character education for infant teachers.
