The purpose of this paper was to interpret the sublime experiences of longdistance walking travelers from the ontological perspectives. It also illuminated the cross section spot between the concept of aesthetic sublimity and ontological philosophy. Long-distance walkers were a group of people who made a strong resistance to the atheism and the blind pursuit of materialism of contemporary world. They always wanted to escape from everydayness and fallness of contemporary society by taking an existentially neutral state. Though they have suffered from being serious injuries. they have never stopped walking. This is because their strong pursuit of Being-itself(nothingness) and objet a made them overcome physical pains and converge them into the state of pleasant pains. These pleasant pains were changed into the sublimity which can lead to heightening spirits. Long-distance walkers experienced the sublimity through a variety of manners such as anxiety, uncanny feeling, the possible impossibility of its existence and the thought of death. Kant, Heidegger, Schopenhauer and Marcel suggested their own conceptual bases for reaching the sublimity in the walking tours.
