여행경력패턴(Travel Career Pattern)에 따른 수원 관광객의 유형과 특성

The Types and Characteristics of Suwon Tourists by Applying Travel Career Pattern Model: A Latent Profile Analysis Approach

본 연구의 목적은 잠재프로파일분석(latent profile analysis: LPA) 을 활용하여 수원 관광객의 여행경력패턴 이론에 따라 어떤 잠재계층이 존재하는지 확인하고, 그 특성과 구조에 따라 유형화하는 것이다. 이를 위해 수원시 주요 관광지점을 방문한 관광객을 대상으로 일대일 개인면접 방식으로 설문을 수집하였으며, 1,000명의 자료를 획득하여 분석에 사용하였다. 분석결과, 첫째 잠재프로파일분석을 통해 (1) 전체적인 동기는 전반적으로 가장 낮았으나 ‘신기성’, ‘일상탈출/휴식’, ‘관계’ 중심적인 핵심동기형 집단, (2) 전체적인 동기는 전반적으로 가장 높으나, ‘외적 자기개발’과 ‘내적 자기개발’, ‘성취’ 중심적인 내적동기형 집단, (3) 두 집단 대비 전반적으로 고른 동기를 지닌 일반형 집단의 세 개의 하위유형이 확인되었다. 둘째, 교차분석과 일원분산분석을 이용하여 세 개의 하위유형을 결정하는 변인을 확인한 결과, 성별, 연령, 경기도 여행횟수, 방문목적, 추천의사, 재방문의사 그리고 관광만족도 부분에서 세 집단 간의 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 반면 여행경력을 측정하는 수원여행횟수와 해외여행횟수 부분에서는 집단 간 차이를 확인할 수 없었다. 종합해보면 본 연구의 결과를 통해 다차원적인 동기로 다양한 관광활동에 참여하는 잠재그룹을 확인하는 데 있어 LPA가 유용한 툴인 것으로 밝혀졌다.

The purpose of this study was to identify travel career pattern of Suwon tourist by using a Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) and classify them based on measurements such as latent class characteristics and structure. Data from 1,000 tourists at main tourism destination in Suwon city were surveyed with person interview then analyzed. LPA identified three subgroups: (1) core motives oriented type with lowest motivation, (2) mid-layer motives oriented type with highest motivation, and (3) general type with relatively regular motivation. In order to examine the significant differences among three groups, cross-tabulation and ANOVA analysis was conducted. As a result, gender, age, number of travel times of Gyonggi do, the purpose of visit, intention to recommend, and intention to revisit, and tourism satisfaction were found to be significant differences of three groups whereas number of travel times of Suwon and aborad did not. In conclusion, our findings suggest that LPA can be an effective tool for identifying subgroups of individuals who have engaged in particular sets of tourism activities with multiple motivation dimensions.
