Under the social context of the globalisation of modern tourism, tourism infrastructures have been constructed in what would have been thought of as the most unlike of places. Temporal and spatial constraints in tourism have disappeared. Tourism has de-differentiated. The social meaning of tourism is decentring. The sign value, national identity and diversity play a role in influencing modern tourism under the globalisation. Author arguably concludes that, without having an accurate understanding of the globalisation, one could hardly likely to get the implications for tourism development in Korea.
