The cause-and-effect relationship between the residents’ perception of tourism impact and their attitudes toward tourism development was examined. The analysis was based on 250 questionnaires given to residents of SUBJIKOJI (SINYANG-RI) in Jeju Province. The cause-and-effect relationships between the three factors in the residents’ perceptions about tourism impact and two of their attitudes by multi-regressions were as follows: First, it appeared that all three factors of tourism affected whether residents would support tourism development or not. Among them, economic improvements had the greatest impact on their support. Second, only economic improvements appeared to be a significant factor in forming attitudes that tourism benefited residents.
