1930년대 경성 관광안내서 연구

A Study on the Gyeongseong Tourist Guide in the 1930s

본고에서는 1933년 경성관광협회에서 발행된조선요리·연석 안내서(朝鮮料理·宴席の栞)를 통해 1930년대 행해졌던 경성 관광의 일면을 고찰해보고자 하였다.朝鮮料理·宴席の栞는 경성관광협회가 만들어 낸 경성의 관광안내서로써 경성에서 즐길 수 있는 음식과 주요 관광지, 그리고 그에 따른 요금 등을 안내하고 있다. 한편 간단한 조선어 단어나 회화 등도 소개하는 등 경성을 방문한 조선인보다는 일본인들을 대상으로 만들어진 안내서 성격이 강하다. 경성의 기생들과 밤 문화 등을 소개하며 본인이 직접 기생들의 예기명과 특징을 기입할 수 있도록 만들어진 것도 특징이라 할 수 있다. 본서의 또 하나의 특징이라 한다면 경성 치안의 안전함을 강조하는 등 단체관광보다는 개인관광에 초점을 맞추고 있으며 경성의 여러 관광지들에 대한 역사적인 유래나 조선인들의 전통문화와 풍습 등에 대한 소개는 전혀 없다는 것이다. 이것은 경성의 고급 요리집과 기생, 갈보 등 성문화를 접할 수 있는 안내가 비교적 자세히 안내되어 있는 것과는 대조적이며 또한 요리집과 기생과의 유흥을 접할 수 있는 방법 등이 일본과 비교되고 있는 것도 특징이라 할 수 있다. 즉 朝鮮料理·宴席の栞는 경성의 명승지를 관광을 위한 안내서라기 보다는 개인의 유흥을 위한 안내서에 가깝다.

In this paper, an aspect of Gyeongseong tourism conducted in the 1930s was examined through the Chosenryori·ensekinosiori published by the Gyeongseong Tourism Association in 1933. Chosenryori·ensekinosiori is a tour guide to Gyeongseong created by the Gyeongseong Tourism Association, which guides you through food you can enjoy in Gyeongseong, major tourist attractions, and the fees accordingly. On the other hand, simple Korean words and paintings are also introduced, and the nature of the guide is stronger for Japanese than Koreans who visited Gyeongseong. It is also characterized by introducing gisaengs and night cultures in Gyeongseong and allowing them to write their own expectations and characteristics. Another characteristic of this book is that it focuses on individual tourism rather than group tourism, emphasizing the safety of Gyeongseong’s security, and there is no introduction to the historical origin of various tourist attractions in Gyeongseong or the traditional culture and customs of Koreans. This is in contrast to the relatively detailed guidance on sexual culture such as high-quality restaurants in Gyeongseong, Gisaeng, and Galbo, and it is also characterized by the comparison of ways to access the entertainment of Gisaeng and restaurants in Japan. In other words, Chosenryori·ensekinosiori is more like a guide for individual entertainment rather than a guide for tourism to scenic spots in Gyeongseong.
