A Study on the Retrospective Meaning of Life of the Elderly Women

본 연구는 여성노인이 자신이 살아온 삶을 어떻게 이해하고 해석하는지, 현재는 어떻게 살고 있는지, 여태까지 살아온 과정은 현재의 삶과 어떻게 연관되어 있는지, 노화과정에서 어떻게 변해 가는지 늘 이해하는 것이 목적이다. 사회적 상황에서 서로 관계를 맺고 영향을 주면서 살아가는 역동적인 삶이 어떻게 변해 가는지 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 65세부터 90세까지의 7명의 여성노인을 심층면접 하였다. 연구결과 여성노인의 경험은 그들이 살아온 과정의 삶이 무엇과도 바꿀 수 없는 자신만의 재산이라고 본다는 것이 드러났다. 시대적 상황으로 고생하며 희생한 부분도 많이 있다고 볼 수 있지만 그래도 그들이 살아온 시대의 공통점이 있었음을 알 수 있다. 이들 참가자들은 어려운 시절 여자로서의 생애경험은 아픔과 고난이 있었지만 역경을 견뎌내고 묵묵히 살아온 날들이 많았다고 할 수 있다. 아울러 여성노인의 삶을 이해하고자 하는 것은 그들이 살아온 과정을 되돌아보게 하는 탐색과정을 거치면서 사회적으로 노인에 대한 관심을 갖고 새로운 견해가 조성되어야 한다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구결과는 노인과 노화에 대한 새로운 이해, 즉 ‘노화의 과정적 측면’에 대한 적극적인 관심을 기울여야 함을 시사한다.

In order to achieve this research purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with 7 female elderly people from 65 to 90. Studies have shown that the experience of elderly women sees the life of the process they have lived as their own property that cannot be exchanged for anything. suffering from the circumstances of the times It can be seen that there are many sacrifices, but it can be seen that there was something in common in the era where they lived. These participants had pain and hardship in their life as a woman in difficult times, but there were many days when they endured adversity and lived silently. Also, to understand the lives of elderly women is to reflect on the process they have lived It can be said that new views should be created with interest in the elderly socially through the exploration process. The results of this study suggest that active attention should be paid to a new understanding of the elderly and aging, that is, the 'processual aspect of aging'.
