This study focuses on the negative results of transformational leadership. Conceptual examination on the previous studies about transformational leadership and relevant issues reveals that transformational leadership may have negative impacts on organizational effectiveness. Focusing on the possible negative results caused by transformational leadership this study empirically examine the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational commitment which is composed by affective commitment and calculative commitment and the mediating role of burn-out. Literature and empirical studies which consists of regression analysis and mediating regression analysis results 1) transformational leadership increase affective commitment but has negative impact on calculative commitment and 2) burn-out partially mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and calculative commitment. Therefore this study implies that a hotel should manage the negative impacts of transformational leadership on organizational commitment and burn-out.
