페로(C. Perrault) 동화의 색

Color in Perrault’s Fairy Tales: Focusing on Little Red Riding Hood and Blue Beard

본 논문은 융(C. G. Jung) 심리학 관점에서 페로의 동화, 『빨간 모자』와 『푸른 수염』에 나타나는 ‘빨강’과 ‘파랑’의 상징을 연구한다. 심리적 곤경에 처한 두 여주인공이 내면의 아니무스(animus)를 발견하고 개성화되는 과정에서 색이 어떤 의미를 표상하는지 분석한다. 『빨간 모자』의 ‘빨강’을 긍정적 아니무스와, 『푸른 수염』의 ‘파랑’을 부정적 아니무스와 연결하는 해석은 이 동화에 나타나는 색을 가부장적 비전을 강화하는 도구로 보는 기존 비평과는 다른 관점을 제시할 것이다. 신구논쟁 과정에서 페로가 전개한 여성관과 동화집 서문에서 밝힌 진보적인 생각이 작품에 투영되었음을 밝힘으로써 페로 동화의 색채상징에 융 심리학적 접근의 적절성을 강조한다. 근대파 수장으로서 페로가 지녔던 신념을 확인하는 작업은 페로 동화를 새롭게 해석하는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

This essay explores the symbolic meaning of red and blue of Little Red Riding Hood and Blue Beard written by C. Perrault in analytical psychology. The heroines who face psychological difficulties subvert their fear, discovering animus to the journey to individuation. This approach would outweigh the existing interpretation of the female protagonists as victims of male power. Red and blue of two works have mainly interpreted from a negative perspective by critics because they believed Parrault contributed to strengthen the patriarchal vision. Laying the groundwork for reinterpreting the female protagonists from the point of view of C. Jung's analytical psychology, I will explore how ‘Red’ in Little Red Riding Hood and ‘Blue’ in Blue Beard correlate with creative animus and destructive one in the work respectively.
