A Study on the Urban Competitiveness Indicators in the Fourth Industrial Revolution

This study is to derive new urban competitiveness indicators suitable for the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Therefore, among the preliminary indicators derived from previous prior research and expert Delphi survey, the indicators that overlap with each other or that are difficult to collect data for comparative evaluation between cities were summarized. Based on the compiled indicators, the survey was conducted on city-related professors, city-related researchers, and city-related engineers. Based on the survey results, importance was derived between indicators through AHP analysis and FAHP method. The results showed that the fourth industrial infrastructure is the most important in terms of importance between the fourth industrial infrastructure and the settlement and living conditions. In addition, information and communication topped the overall importance of division 4 of industrial infrastructure. However, in the final overall ranking of 48 units, AI utilization rate, IOT utilization rate, and high-tech business numbers were all pushed out of the top 20 in the final comprehensive ranking, and the residential environment was more important than information and communication, and education, culture, social welfare, local economy and safety were more important. This seems to be due to the fact that information and communication technology has already been applied to laws, medical services, and art both domestically and internationally and internationally, and that it has been driven by the trend of the times, which is bound to further develop.
