敎育哲學 第86集.jpg

The purpose of this paper is to find educational implications related to the aspect of educational community through the utopia of Confucius’ the Great Communion(大同) and Laozi’s the Small Country and Population(小國寡民). The utopia of Confucius is the society of great communion, and the second best suggests a society with little comfort. The Great Communion(大同) was a society where there was the great Tao, the world was a common property, and people who were good and competent worked and had faith. The people living in it loved not only those related to themselves but also others, and it was a society where the weak were taken care of. It was also economically prosperous and crime-free, so there was no need to close the gates. The Little Comfort(小康) is inferior to the Great Communion, but presents some good society with little comfort. In the case of Laozi, he presented an ideal society that could be represented by the Small Country and Population(小國寡民). He presented a peaceful community without war and without conflict through the appearance of simple and good customs. Through the image of the ideal community presented by Confucius and Laozi, the size of the educational community, the role of leaders, the use of talented people, and the formation of a peaceful community etc., can give implications for education in the form of educational communities such as school communities and village education communities today.
