블루스 음악의 즉흥연주법에 대한 연구 ╶ 래리 칼튼, 스캇 핸더슨 연주를 중심으로╶

현대 실용음악의 뿌리는 미국 흑인음악에서 파생된음악이 주류를 이룬다. 초창기 흑인음악이라 할 수있는 음악은 블루스(Blues)이며 이후 많은 발전을 걸쳐 재즈(Jazz), 로큰롤(Rock’n Roll), 소울(Soul) 등여러 음악에 모태가 된다. 이렇듯 블루스 음악은 현실용음악에서 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있으며 빼놓을 수 없는 음악이다. 현대 실용음악에서 연주되는 재즈는 블루스를 기초하고 있으며 즉흥연주의 특징을 포함하고 있다. 또한래리 칼튼(Larry Carlton)과 스캇 핸더슨(Scott Hend erson)은 재즈 음악에서 많은 영향력을 보인 뮤지션으로써 이들의 블루스 즉흥연주법에 관한 연구는 재즈 뮤지션들에게 하나의 방향성을 제시하고 재즈음악발전에도 필요한 자료가 될 것으로 사료된다.

The roots of modern Applied Music are mainly composed of music derived from Black Music (African-American Music). Blues could be considered as the early African-American Music. Since then, African-American Music has developed a lot, and it has been a matrix of various music such as Jazz, Rock’n Roll, and Soul. Likewise, Blues Music has an important place in modern Applied Music and is indispensable. Jazz, played in modern Applied Music, is based on Blues and includes features of improvisation. Also, Larry Carlton and Scott Henderson are musicians who have exerted their influence to Jazz Music, and their studies on improvisation of Blues suggest a direction for Jazz musicians and are regarded as an important reference for the development of Jazz Music.
