Focusing on the Siheung Gaetgol Festival in Gyeonggi-do

Local festivals become a means of use for economic, social, and cultural purposes that lead the community. Because it helps to improve the local image, revitalize the local economy and tourism, each local government secures the identity of the region through local festivals and utilizes them to revitalize the local economy through sustainable festivals. Therefore, in this study, problems with marine festivals were deduced and based on the theory of regional identity, policy proposals were made for development plans for marine tourism festivals incorporating national important fishery heritage, a project of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. In order to support this study, we would like to present a plan to activate a sustainable marine tourism festival through the Siheung Gaetgol Festival program, a marine festival in Siheung City. Policy proposals for marine festivals are as follows. There is a need to utilize marine festivals by expanding the scope and number of times online and offline, by place and season to suit segmentation and personalized tastes based on algorithms due to the development of networks and technologies. In addition, there is a need to establish detailed plans for fostering marine festivals and supporting sustainable festivals. Next, there is a need to discover national important fishing heritage. It is necessary to link the national important fishery heritage system with local festivals or tourism festivals. Lastly, it is necessary to form a festival development consultative body for marine festivals. A system that can unify statistics to monitor local residents and visitors, a marine festival development consultative body with marine tourism experts, marine festival experts, local and central governments, etc. You need to plan a marine festival.
