김상준(金相濬) 목사의 종말관 분석

An Analysis of Rev. Sang-Jun Kim’s Views of Eschatology: Focused on Four-fold Doctrine(1921), Lecture on Revelation(1918), and “Pray for Autumn Rain for Harvest”(1921)

본 연구에서는 김상준(金相濬) 목사의 저작 『四重敎理』(1921), 『黙示錄講義』(1918), “秋收의 雨를 빌나”(1921) 등을 중심으로 그의 종말론에 대한 관점들을 분석하고자 한다. 그의 종말론에 관한 핵심적인 논지들은 이 세 편의 역작들을 통해 고찰할 수 있으며 일제강점기인 1921년 시점 전후에 발행된 문헌들이다. 김상준의 종말론에 관한 주요 논점들과 관련하여 세 편의 문헌들에 나타난 의미심장한 논지들을 취합 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 『四重敎理』를 중심으로 사중복음과 각 교리에 해당되는 다양한 하위 주제들, 그리스도의 재림 지향적 중생과 성결, 그리스도의 재림에 관한 이해 등을 다루었다. 둘째, 『黙示錄講義』를 중심으로 요한계시록을 기록한 목적, 요한계시록에 대한 미래적 해석기법, 하늘과 땅의 일신변화(一新變化, 開闢) 등에 주안점을 두어 고찰했다. 셋째, 설교문 “秋收의 雨를 빌나”를 중심으로 풍년(예수 그리스도의 재림과 최후의 심판에 대한 은유적인 표현)을 성취해야 할 역학적 구도, 늦은 비(성령에 대한 은유적인 표현)를 고대하는 기도의 사명, 한국그리스도인들의 고질적인 병과 치료 방책들, 한국그리스도인들의 민족복음화를 위한 책무 등을 살폈다. 넷째, 본 논문에서 천착한 중요한 논점들을 바탕으로 종말론 교육의 활성화와 민족복음화를 실천하기 위한 노력 등 오늘날 한국그리스도인들을 선도하기 위한 실천적 모범들을 제시했다.

This paper aims to analyze Sang-Jun Kim’s views of eschatology, focusing on Four-fold Doctrine(1921), Lecture on Revelation(1918), and “Pray for Autumn Rain for Harvest”(1921). His meaningful views of eschatology are based on these three masterpieces published around 1920 under the rule of Japanese imperialism. The prominent points of his views of eschatology in these three works could be summarized as follows: Firstly, the author deals with four-fold gospel and various sub-topics related to these doctrines, regeneration and sanctification on the basis of the second coming of Christ, understanding of the second coming of Christ, focusing on Four-fold Doctrine. Secondly, the author concentrates on the purpose of recording the Book of Revelation, the future-oriented interpretation of the Book of Revelation, the qualitative change of the sky and the earth, focusing on Lecture on Revelation. Thirdly, the author studies the mechanical composition for a good harvest(the metaphorical expression of Jesus Christ’s second coming and last judgment), the mission of prayer for autumn rain(the metaphorical expression of Holy Spirit), chronic diseases and remedies of Korean Christians, the responsibilities of Korean Christians for national evangelization, focusing on sermon “Pray for Autumn Rain for Harvest”. Fourthly, the author proposes practical lessons to today’s Korean Christians on the basis of the meaningful content of this research such as the revitalization of eschatological education, the efforts for national evangelization, and so on.
