포스트 코로나19 시대 글로벌 가치사슬의 재편

Reorganization of the Global Value Chains in the Post COVID-19 Era: De-Chineseization?

  • 132

The reorganization of the global value chains is the fact that even before the outbreak of COVID-19, the reorganization of the global value chains has already become inevitable, especially due to the U.S.-China trade war. The punitive tariff measures caused by the trade war have forced foreign companies operating in China for the purpose of producing products to consider replacing suppliers. In addition, the current conflict between the U.S. and China, and the decoupling of production networks are becoming acute in the high-tech industrial sector related to the 4th Industrial Revolution. The reorganization of the global value chains around the production supply chains can also be said to be a matter of time and magnitude of fluctuation. The global supply chain-oriented reorganization is not a ‘de-Chineseization’ mainly targeting China, but rather a strategic intention of related countries and companies to distribute risks locally through global realignment of the Chinese risks that can occur when the supply chains is too dependent on China.
