蔡萬植與巴金的告白叙事: 以<民族的罪人>與《隨想錄》为中心

It is easy to think of the numerous debates surrounding the text about “reflection” and “pleading”, as the two texts of, “The Sinner of the Nation” and, “The Essays” are referred to. Based on the content of the text, this paper first analyzes the confession of Chae, Man-Sik, and Ba Jin from two aspects of narrative strategy and confession content. It is found that “reflection” and “pleading” are only natural products of the confession narrative, but a review of the purpose of confession and its significance are more crucial. Whether it is “pleading” or “reflection”, the writer describes the process and background of the event that the narrator have experienced in real and detailed terms, as well as the mental activity of that time. It provides meaningful information to understand the true state of mind of the intelligentsia who lives under pressure. Through confession, the narrator makes efforts to rebuild his moral identity. The Japanese colonial period in Korea and the cultural revolution in China is a nightmare of the history of national suffering. “The Sinner of the Nation” and “The Essays”, which are the representatives of the confession literature, which provides the proper teaching materials to help prevent the repetition of historical tragedies.
