대일항쟁군의 전통의학 이용에 관한 고찰

A Study on the Use of Traditional Medicine by the Righteous Army against Imperial Japanese Army

전통의학은 수십 세기 전부터 인류가 축적해온 의학지식 및 경험의 산물이다. 근대에 들어서며 대한제국의 전통의학은, 일제에 의해 말살될 뻔했으나, 대중과 대일항쟁군의 삶 속에 계속 존재했고 오히려 대일항쟁활동에 활용되었다. 본 연구는 간도 및 만주에서 활동했던 대일항쟁군에게 전통의학이 어떤 의미였는지 고찰했다. 전통의학 이용사례와 역사적 배경을 분석함으로써 전통의학의 의미를 안전하고 효율적인 치료수단, 현지자원 활용수단, 군자금 조달 및 정보교류 수단으로 나누어 밝혔다. 이를 통해 전통의학 역시 의료체계를 가졌고, 군의적으로 유용하게 활용되었다는 점이 인정받기를 바란다.

Over the course of centuries, traditional medicine has accumulated a wealth of medical knowledge and experience that has been passed down from generation to generation. In the context of Korea, the Japanese colonial rule of the early twentieth century posed a significant threat to the survival of traditional medicine. Despite the challenges, traditional medicine continued to be practiced by ordinary people and the righteous army against imperial Japanese army(RAIJA), and was even employed in anti-Japanese activities. This study seeks to explore the significance of traditional medicine for the RAIJA in Gando and Manchuria. Through an examination of the historical context and case studies of traditional medicine usage, this research reveals the multifaceted meaning of traditional medicine, including its safe and effective treatment methods, utilization of local resources, fundraising and information exchange methods. The ultimate goal of this study is to recognize the existence of a medical system within traditional medicine and its practical utility for military purposes.
