In the art of poetry, imagery is a symbol with words as its carrier, an image of the poet's thoughts and feelings, a harmonious unification of the poet's inner emotions and external objects of life, a palpable and tactile image created by the poet through imagination, and the art of poetry cannot be separated from imagery. Image is used in ancient Chinese poetry very early, poets seldom express their thoughts and feelings directly, but often express their chest meaning through the use of imagery. In the poem palace of Chinese modern literature, Xu Zhimo is one of the poets who pay much attention to the pursuit of poetic image. Every image in poetry has its own unique meaning, which makes us easier to understand the poetry and the poet's thoughts and feelings. On the basis of taking an overall view of Xu Zhimo's poems, this paper will elaborate the main images in his poems in detail.
