In this study, we attempt to propose the use of multimedia as one of the methods to increase the efficiency of the Chinese language education. Multimedia learning is a learning that uses multimedia for students’ investigation of research and their self expression, and in the process, students would achieve various information ability and multimedia literacy. It is said that an effective teaching-learning method is very important to effectively utilize multimedia in the Chinese language education. This study was conducted by designing an actual class lesson to examine how to effectively use multimedia in the Chinese language education. For the intermediate Chinese language learners, this study conducted a class of ‘Multimedia Chinese education' using multimedia materials based on internet site with four language functions such as listening, speaking, reading and writing, and five language elements such as voice, vocabulary, grammar, Chinese character, and culture, suggesting a specific method as an example. Through this process, the learner uses the multimedia such as the Internet site directly to find teaching methods for each function and element of the Chinese language, and actually perform them, which leads to learning a concrete way to use multimedia in Chinese class. This type of teaching method can be a great help not only for improving learners’ Chinese language ability but also for improving their self-directed learning ability.
