Song dynasty’s poetics was affected by Shijingology(《詩》學) deeply and broadly, such as Yijingyueshi(以經約詩, Poetry restrained by classics). It mainly contained three parts. First, poetry was required to be created by poetic teaching (詩教), including satire indoctrination(諷刺教化),gentle and kind(溫柔敦厚), correspondence between literature and politics, and evaluating the poems of later generations with the perspective of “Xing-Guan-Qun-Yuan”(興觀群怨). Second, the poem creation was restrained by “Shi Yan Zhi”(“詩言志”, Poem expressing ideal), the Two-Nan(二南) was regarded as the highest model, and the emotional expression was required in the way of “Si Wu Xi”(“思無邪”, Thinking righteously). Last, Song peoples believed classics were the origins of the lyric writings or forms, just like of the verse. Yijingyueshi(以經約詩), as the classics framework of literary activities, is one of the important factors, which decided Song dynasty works were success or failure.
