Aiming to study the explanatory dimension of “folklore”in the present Post-modern context of China，this article analyzes the threefold metaphoricalmeanings of “folklore”in Happiness:1. symbolic meaning of kidneys— evidence of antagonism between the urban and rural 2. irony of the identity of prostitutes: subversion of folk poetic aesthetic tastes; 3. disintegration of ‘Happiness’ –Post-modernism Deconstruction of folk personalities.
