2009, 혁명역사드라마의 탈이데올로기적 독해

TV드라마 <잠복(潛伏)>을 중심으로

<Qian Fu(潛伏)>, a TV drama based on China’s Revolution, earned extreme popularity among the Chinese 30 years after the Revolution, in the time of post-Socialism. This popular drama aired in the year 2008, when the results of China’s reforms and openness policy were clearly visible. Focusing on what elements of the drama may have appealed to the vast people of China, the purpose of this research paper is to reveal the relationship between the ideologies of the present time to the historical text of this drama. This research is carried out from two different perspectives. The first is examining the boom of TV dramas in the year 2000s, and the second is analyzing the mechanisms of the present ideology through the drama text of <Qian Fu>. Specifically, the Critical Cultural Studies methodology was utilized to examine <Qian Fu> in three aspects: (1)How does a nation’s cultural policy affect a TV Drama production? (2)How is commercialization applied in the production of a TV Drama? (3)How was the approval and response of the audience toward a TV Drama? In post-Socialism China, if 1980s was the era of literature, 1990s would be the era of cinema, and 2000s could be said as the era of TV drama. From mid-2000s, made-in-China TV dramas reflecting inherent cultural characteristics, received tremendous approval from the Chinese general public. And starting from the year 2008, which <Qian Fu> was aired, the genre of TV drama evolved into a common interest topic for not only the general population but also for the academia. The academia’s interest arose because the year 2008 marked the 30th year from the parting of the Revolution and the start of reforms and China’s opendoor policy. And despite of China’s Socialist structure, the year2008 was a period which the gap between wealth and poverty deepened and the irony of this societal divide was apparent. This research looks at China’s cultural phenomenon through <Qian Fu>’s interpretation of the dominant ideology and probes China’s political meaning and worth within the cultural phenomenon.
