The unique literary characteristics and values of Yulizi are that LiuJi gave shape vividly to the dark and chaotic social situation of the Yuan and Sung Dynasties using the literary genre of fable, and that he fully expressed his thoughts and ideas through writing methods such as narration, lyricism, admiration and satire. In addition, in that the major contents of Yulizi are mostly the disclosure of and satire on the society of the late Yuan Dynasty, criticism on it and his effort to realize his assertion in real life and that such an effort promoted the revival of the enervated literature in that age, research on Yulizi has critical values and implications in the history of literature in the aspect of defining the character of fables in the late Yuan Dynasty and in the aspect of the inheritance and development of the history of Chinese fable prose.
