Zhao Bian, the ' iron-faced censor ', was an outstanding practitioner of the civil service system in the Song Dynasty, and a model of the perfect combination of man and system. The Song School constitutes the ideological basis of the civil official system in the Song Dynasty, which directly affects the administrative concept and style of the rulers. Although Zhao Bian was influenced by Neo-Confucianism, he was closer to Confucius and Yan Hui. In addition to the upright ' iron face ', he had a more generous and merciful side, especially when he served in local governments. Zhao Bian has profound Buddhist and literary accomplishment. His poems are mainly about singing and chanting. The unrestrained gentleman 's style is blended with the simple Zen taste, compatible with the Tang and Song Dynasties, and unique. Zhao Bian ' s Confucianism, Zen enlightenment and poetry provide him with rich life energy, cultivate his noble and detached cultural personality, and further feedback to his political activities. Through the study of Zhao Bian, the importance of human factors in the civil official system has been further highlighted.
