바흐의 『프렐류드와 푸가C장조』, BWV 547의 작곡기법적 연구

A study on Bach's "Praeludium et Fuga in C", BWV 547

The organ music plays an important role in Bach's composition world. This is connected with that Bach worked often in his life as an organist. He was a competent organist in many cities, until he was appointed as Kappelmeister in Köthen's court. When we look in the catalog of Bach's works drawn up by Schmieder, we will notice that the nearly half of the instrumental works is written for organ(BWV 525-770, 1090-1120). The organ works can be divided into two groups, namely one based on chorales and one composed in free styles. And the genre “Praeludium et Fuga” stands in the center of the works of free styles. The characters of the works in this genre are various, because the musical elements appear distinctively in different forms and contents. In this article we will look into the structure and the character of the “Praeludium et Fuga in C”, BWV 547. We will observe some matters as followed, in which influence the musical elements exerted on the formation of the inner character of the work, and in which form the untiring experimental mind of the composer appears in this work.
