[서평] 웹소설 창작은 글쓰기의 기본에서 출발한다

Web novel creation starts from the basics of writing

이 글에서는 산경의 『실패하지 않는 웹소설 연재의 기술』(위즈덤하우스,2020)를 소개했다. 산경은 『재벌집 막내아들』로 잘 알려진 작가이다. 이 저서에서 산경은 작가 지망생들에게 자신과 같은 시행착오를 겪지 말았으면 하는 마음으로 경험을 통해 터득한 노하우를 공유했다. 많은 웹소설 작가들이 작법서를 발간하고 자신의 창작 노하우를 공유하고 있다. 그중 산경의 작법서가 돋보이는 이유는 웹소설 창작이 글쓰기의 기본에서 출발한다는 것을 전달하고 있기 때문이다. 산경은 18가지를 제시했는데, 이 글에서는 그 중 소재 선택, 캐릭터 설정, 플롯 선택, 자료 찾기와 활용, 프롤로그와 에필로그, 문장쓰기, 시점의 활용, 영감의 원천, 다독 다상량 다작 9가지를 소개했다. 산경의 작법서는 ‘내용’과 ‘문장’에 대한 성실함으로 요약할 수 있다. 그것은 웹소설에만 해당되는 이야기가 아니라 모든 글쓰기의 기본기이다.

This article introduced Sankyung’s “The Technology of Continuing Web Nov-els” (Wizdom House, 2020). Sankyeong is a well-known author of “The Youngest Son of a Congregation.” In this book, Sang-kyung shared the know-how he learned through experience with aspiring writers in the hope that he would not experience the same trial and error as he did. Many web novel writers publish their writing books and share their creative know-how. Among them, Sangyeong’s writing book stands out because it conveys that the creation of web novels starts from the basics of writing. Shan-kyung presented 18 of them, and this article introduced nine of them: material selection, character setting, plot selection, data search and utilization, prologue and epilogue, sentence writing, use of perspective, source of inspiration, and Extensive Reading, Prolific Writing, In-depth Thinking. Sankyeo-ng’s writing can be summarized as sincerity about ‘content’ and ‘sentence’. It’s not just a story for web novels, it’s the basis of all writing.
