How to develop a sustainable and responsible hallmark sporting event? - Experiences from tour of Qinghai Lake International Road Cycling Race, using IPA method

The purpose of the study was to test the most important factors to consider in the development of a sustainable and responsible hallmark sporting event. The Tour of Qinghai Lake International Road Cycling Race was used as a study case and recommendations were made relevant to that event. IPA and factor analysis were mainly used in the study. The results suggest that Legacy Planning and Aspects that last and Human Health and Education were in Quadrant I, keep up the good work; Policy and Principles, and Monitoring and Evaluation Processes were in Quadrant II, concentrate here; Reduced Consumption of Natural Resources was in Quadrant III, low priority; and there were no factors in Quadrant IV, possible overkill.
