본 연구는 통계학의 변화를 파악하여 데이터 기반 통계교육의 지향을 확인하고, 그 핵심적인 목표와 과제를 파악하여 수학과 교육과정의 통계 영역 재구조화 방향을 모색하는 데에 목표를 둔다. 먼저 통계학의 변화를 데이터의 유형과 본성의 변화와 데이터 분석 방법의 변화로 나누어 살펴봄으로써 데이터 기반 통계교육의 지향을 도출하였다. 다음으로 데이터 기반 통계교육의 핵심 목표와 과제를 통계적 추리와 통계적 문제해결의 두 초점에 비추어 논의하였다. 논의 결과를 종합하여, 데이터 기반 통계교육의 관점에서 수학과 교육과정의 통계 영역을 재구조화할 때 고려해야 할 점을 제안하였다. 첫째, 성취기준에는 비정형 데이터, 2차 데이터 분석, 편향, 윤리의식과 같은 이슈를 반영할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 정보처리 역량의 의미와 하위 요소 설명에 데이터의 유형과 본성, 분석 방법의 변화가 반영되어야 한다. 셋째, 교수ㆍ학습 및 평가 유의사항에는 2차 데이터의 탐구, 통계적 질문 추론, 공학적 도구의 활용 방법을 구체적으로 제시해야 한다. 후속 연구로는 본 연구에서 제안한 통계 영역 재구조화 방향의 구체화, 데이터 기반 통계교육을 위한 교수ㆍ학습 및 평가 자료, 수업모형과 교수학적 전략의 개발을 제안하였다.
This study aims to specify what and how to improve the national mathematics curriculum to systematically pursue the goals of nurturing statistical and data literacy, statistical reasoning, and statistical problem solving. We named the perspective pursuing these goals as Data-Driven Statistical Education (DDSE) and investigated its focal backgrounds including data types, data analysis, and data ethics. Explorations on how to facilitate statistical reasoning and statistical problem solving in the context of DDSE were conducted. The results suggested some alterations to be made in the content standards, mathematical competence description, and policies of teaching, learning, and evaluation in the curriculum document. With regard to content standards, to understand and process unstructured data, to handle the collected and routinely presented data from a new perspective, to understand and cope with the possible bias in data, and to value data and consider ethical issues in relation to data are suggested to be included. We suggested to renew sub-elements of the Information Processing competence in alignment with DDSE perspective by valuing novel ways of seeing the given data to extract meaningful inquiry questions and carrying out secondary analysis. Specific guides to teaching, learning and evaluation to realize DDSE are suggested.
