본 연구는 재즈 즉흥연주의 원리를 활용하여 보컬 전공 학습자들이 가창을통해 작곡을 경험하도록 지도하는 방안의 개발을 목적으로 한다. 즉흥연주의 원리를 활용하지만, 본격적인 재즈 즉흥연주 테크닉을 배양하는 것보다는 즉흥연주를 작곡의 도구로 활용하는 것을 주요 내용으로 한다. 수업은 크게 ‘코드 톤 가창’, ‘화성 진행 위에서의 코드 톤 가창’, ‘화성 진행에 멜로디 만들기’, ‘가사를활용하여 멜로디 만들기’의 네 단계로 이루어지며, 이는 주어진 전체 수업의 차수와 학습자의 이론적 배경 및 성취도에 따라 단계를 세분화하여 진행할 수 있다. 수업에서 학습자는 가창을 통한 창작을 경험하고 창의적 작업과 관련된 기반을마련할할 수 있다. 특히 본 연구는 보컬 전공 학습자들이 이론과 가창을 교차시킬기회를 제공하고, 이를 통해 음악적 스펙트럼을 확장할 수 있도록 돕는 지도방안의 개발이라는 데에 그 의의가 있다.
This study aims to develop a method of teaching vocal learners to experience composition through singing that applies the principles of jazz improvisation, but focuses on improvisation as a tool for composition rather than cultivating authentic jazz improvisational techniques. The lessons are divided into four phases: singing chord tones, singing chord tones over chord progressions, creating melodies over chord progressions, and creating melodies with lyrics, which can be broken down into smaller steps depending on the level of the overall lesson and the learner’s theoretical background and achievement. In the class, learners can experience creation through singing and lay the foundation for creative work. The significance of this study lies in the development of a pedagogical approach to help vocal majors expand their musical spectrum through opportunities to combine theory and performance.
