The purpose of this study is to investigate ideal ways of developing Korean langage teaching materials for women immigrants by marriage. In order to elicit significant value to be considered for the development of teaching materials for women immigrants as a specific learners' group, it examined their social roles and multiculturalism, and discussed about particularities of women immigrants' needs as a learner and of teachers as well as specific circumstances of teaching and learning, applying the results of the needs analyses of previous studies. Further, it analyzed developed teaching materials for women immigrants, given topics, situations and functions for communication, and then diagnosed problematic points. Drawing on these researches, the study proposed directions for prospective Korean langage teaching materials about objectives, contents and activities for learning, and external composition to be considered as materials are designed.
