The aim of this paper is to clarify that lexico-statistic informations play very important role in Korean language education, especially in vocabulary teaching and learning. In chapter 2, author summarized how lexico-statistic informations can be used to solve problems in foreign/second language vocabulary teaching/ learning. They are as follows ; ① How many words are needed to learn a foreign language, ② Which word are to be taught first, ③ Are there more difficult words to learn than other words? If, there are, can we grade them? ④ How to deal with polysemous words? ⑤ Are there any differences in written and spoken language in vocabulary? In Chapter 3, I have shown three kinds of basic material for Korean vocabulary teaching/learning can be compiled using corpus based lexico-statistic information. They are ① Word-form frequency book with examples, ② Word Family Frequency dictionary ③ Collocation Dictionary based on Corpora.
