In this study, I examined the characteristics of the communication function expressed in practical conversation and I discussed the plan of its application to the Korean Language Education. In order to teach the communication function more effectively, we should make a practical application of the contents on the communication function education based on the principles of discourse. I also examined the application of the education contents, laying stress on the suggestion function, as one between various communication function. The suggestion function is one of the communication functions which are frequent in everyday conversations. In the suggestion function I clarified how is the interaction of the participants in the conversation shown, and which forms of language are used, and I searched for the plans of the practical application to the Korean language education. The composition of the education contents should reflect the types of the conversation which is following the difference between the expression of the suggestion and its purposes. The following constructions of the suggestion conversation are reflecting the contents: [suggestion] → [accepting a suggestion] / [suggestion] → [rejection of the suggestion] / [suggestion] → [accepting a part of the suggestion] / [suggestion] → [opposite suggestion] / [deriving of the suggestion] → [suggestion] → [a accepting suggestion].
