The direction on the development of materials for teaching Korean for immigrant workers: This paper is to show the result of the analysis on the needs from the part of an educatee on developing materials for teaching Korean for immigrant workers and also to demonstrate the examples on syllabus and structuring units based on the result. The degree of needs and difficulty in communication among immigrants has been traced out and suggested on matrix as well to lay down the high degree in needs and low in difficulty for the basic, the high degrees both in needs and difficulty for the intermediate and the low degree in needs but high in difficulty for the advanced. The vocabularies collected directly from visiting and meeting the workers in their workplace are included in the teaching materials as units and showed some of the examples as an appendix. Providing education using practical materials as such would stand for as a good example in special-purpose Korean education adopting the peculiarities of the educatees.
